2013 Navarathiri Golu at Sumukhi Foundation - Shashtiaaptha Navarathri

The Mylapore Trio S.Surendranath, S.Amarnath, S.Aparna of Sri Sumukhi Rajasekharan Memorial Foundation are famous for their thematic Golus, Innovative Golu workshops and magnificent temple Golus. They have won many accolades for their excellent golus world wide, in their cultural career. They were also the judges of the famous Mylapore Golu contest for more than a decade. They owe their cultural and spiritual values to their foster parents Sumukhi & Rajasekharan, their grandmother Smt. Nagammal and their alma mater Kalakshetra under Smt. Rukmini Devi.

The year 2013 is the 60th year golu in their house in Mylapore from the days of their foster parents Sumukhi and Rajasekharan. The Trio have been having thematic golus in their house for the past two decades. The theme for 2013 - "Shashtiaaptha Navarathri" at home. They have depicted sixty years of their foster parents history through landmarks, displaying saints & savants who played prominent role in their lives as reminiscences. Various old articles, vessels, antiques, age old dolls dating back to many decades, vigrahams, are placed as memorabilia.
