ANIMAL STORIES

THE GRASS IS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE

by Aiysh

Eenu & meenu, the goats were eating grass in a large field. Hearing Meenu bleat, Eenu looked up. She saw that the place where Meenu stood, the grass stood tall. It looked lush and green. Eenu bleated in reply. Meenu noticed Eenu & saw that the grass was tall, lush & green where her friend was. They started moving towards each other in greed. They had to cross a narrow bridge. Both goats got on the bridge at the same time. Each wanted to reach the other side first. When they reached the middle of the bridge, both refused to let the other pass. In the fight that started, both goats pushed each other with their horns. They fell with a splash into the water.

Not being satisfied with what they had, they lusted for what the other had. On top of this, not willing to give way for a friend, they wanted to greedily reach their goal first. They paid the penalty for their greed & stubbornness.
