Dr.PADMINI
Dr.Padmini is an 'A' grade artist at All India Radio and Telivision, India. She has a Ph.D on the works of the 'Guru' of Indian Classical music, 'Annamayya'. With an M.A Music, Vocal from Andhra University, Waltair, A.P, India, 1991 ; Alankara. Veena. Gandharva Mahavidyalay, Mumbai, India, 1995 and Ph.D on Annamayya, Andhra University, Waltair, A.P, India, 1998, she was a Lecturer in Music at Visakha Women's College, Waltair, A.P, India, 1979 - 1982 & teaches Veena to Indian students and visiting American students.

She was awarded 'Vainika Vidwan Mani' title at Nellore, A.P, India, 1985 and was selected as ICCR's panel of Artists, 1998. Some of her experiments in classical concerts: Veena and Nadaswaram, 1995 ; All Women artists' concert - Women's day, 1996 ; Thillana Night, 1997 ; Music - Painting feast, 1997 ; Swarnotsava Bharathi - Sangeetha Harathi, All India Radio, 1998 ; Swatantra Bharathi - Sangeetha Harathi, Doordarshan T.V, 2001.

A.K.PALANIVEL (THAVIL)

Born on 10.4.1948 at Haridwaramangalam, Thanjavur, Palanivel started his early training from his father Shri S.Kumaravel Pillai and later he continued his training from Tirucherai Shri G.Muthukumarasamy Pillai. He toured many countries like USA, Canada, Italy, Paris, Switzerland, West Germany, Geneva, Japan, etc. He received many awards like "Nava Nandeeswara Nadhaperoli"; Thavil Isai Thilakam", "Thavil Chakravarthi"; "Kalaimamani". Palanivel has accompanied apart from Nadaswaram, other classical instruments like flute, clarionet, mandolin and saxophone.
