CHARUMATHI RAMACHANDRAN - VOCALIST.............(B. July 12, 1951)
Born at Chennai of K.Viswanathan and Alamelu, Charumathi is a gold Medalist and stood first in B.A. (Music) in the University of Madras. Had her initial training under her mother; later she had her tutelage under Dr.M.L.Vasanthakumari for more than twelve years after a period under Ramnad Krishnan, vocalist. Received the Government of India Scholarship for a two year training under Vidwan D.K.Jayaraman in 1975-77 and the Music Academy Dikshitar scholarship for training under Sangita Kalanidhi D.K.Pattammal. Sangita Kalanidhi T.Brinda is her guru for training in veena. Thus Charumathi has had intensive training under a galaxy of gurus. Her husband, Ramachandran is a popular vocalist. The artiste has skill and resource. 'Chitraambari' is a novel presentation of the musical couple with orchestral backing.

Charumathi has received awards for 'best musician ' in 1971, 1979, 1981, 1983 and 1986 from the Music Academy, Chennai. With her rich and varied training and a vast repertoire of songs of the different composers, she is popular with the music-loving public.



NOOKALA CHINNA SATHYANARAYANA - VOCALIST
Vocalist, violinist and musical discourse performer, Chinna Sathyanarayana studied under Kamalapati Akkaji Rao, Mangalampatti Pattabhiramayya, Dwaram Venkataswamy Naidu, Narasinga Rao and Dr. S.Pinakapani. Was the principal of a music college and giving concerts. Teaching is his favourite field of activity..
