* Vichitraviryaa
Vichitraviryaa was the son of Shantanu and Satyavati.
His brother Chitrangada as the elder son was made king of Hastinapura by Bhishma, after
Shantanu's demise. However Chitrangada was slain by a Gandharva.
Bhishma then crowned Vichitravirya the king of Hastinapura.
Vichitravirya had two wives - Ambika and Ambalika. Both Vichitraviryaa and Chitraangada died early without leaving a heir. Satyavati revealed her secret past and requested Bhishma to bring her firstborn Vyaasa
to impregnate the widows under a tradition called Niyoga. Ambika gave

* Vidhata Son of Bhrigu Maharishi and Khyati, the daughter of Daksha. He had a brother named Dhata and a sister named Bhargavi.
* Virata (Viraata)
King Viraata was a descendant of Matsya (who founded the Matsya kingdom), the twin brother of Satyavati. The Pandavas spent their final year of exile in concealment in King Virata's court.
* Vishwa Devas
Harichandra, a Treta yuga king was being tested by sage
Vishwamitra. The five Vishwa Devas came in support of
Harishchandra. The angered Vishwamitra cursed them to be born on
earth and to die without having any offsprings. These Vishwa Devas
were born as Draupadi's children (the Upapandavas) to her five husbands and they were all killed by Ashwatama at the end of the Kurukshetra war.
* Vrishasena, Vrishaketu
Karna's sons were Vrishasena, Vrishaketu, Banasena, Chitrasena, Satyasena, Sushena, Shatrunjaya, Dvipata and Prasena.
* Vyaasa Vyaasa maharishi was the son of Paraasara maharishi. Vyaasar gave the world the great epic of Mahabharatham.
When he got the content for the epic ready in his mind, he prayed to
Lord Brahma to suggest a suitable person to write the epic as he
narrated the story. Brahma said, Ganesha was best suited.
But Lord Ganesha put down one condition,
that Vyaasar should not hesitate or give a break during the
narration. Vyaasar agreed, but in his turn put the condition that
Ganesha should understand every line and then put it down in writing.
